Just bought this machine-due to I promised my daughter whoopie pies for her class valentines party in about 10 hours- This machine works exactly as the directions state- I used the recipe that you make from a boxed cake (which the recipe is in the recipe guide) and they baked in about 2 minutes flat- Had to be really quick with getting the batter in fast, because it starts to cook instantly! I have the wilton whoopie pie pans, but to make a large batch you need to buy 4-6 pans to keep the baking and cooling process going- will be using this new machine now, also looks like i can bake some cookies in this too! LOVE IT! And easy wipe out clean up-

It's so fun and easy to make mini whoopie pies with this unit. The kids love helping out with it. We follow the basic recipes included with the unit using prepared chocolate cake mix and then follow their directions for making the filling. For variety, we simply add a little flavoring extract, such as raspberry or mint and totally change the flavor. In a little over two minutes you can make eight cake rounds, and you can immediately put in more batter to make the next batch. It's much easier and faster than waiting for baking pans to cool, and the non-stick finish lets you pop then right out without needing cooking spray or other pan preparations. We've discovered that to make the nicest rounds possible, it's better to overfill the pan a little bit than under fill it, which results in lumpy misshapen rounds. We then wait until the rounds are cool, and simply snip off any extra bits that overflowed with a kitchen shear, and viola, they're perfect! One note of caution, however.The unit is plastic in places that get quite hot, so if batter gets in odd places, it will bake onto the plastic and be very very difficult to clean out.
