I bought two of these for camping. So I could both use them as plates and as bowls. And maybe pan for gold if I really get desperate. Simple, durable and good size and price. Although they were around $6ish dollars when I bought them. The one gripe is that one of them had some sloppy enamel work on the rim and a 4mm area of metal was showing. Not worth returning for it but a disappointment none the less. Hence the three stars. I've noticed alot of enamel ware in stores having even worse enamel work and even seeing it flaking off. Seems like new factories have started doing this kind of stuff with out really knowing what they're doing.

I have used this pie pan for a couple years now, it was blue and now I purchased this new brown one, its a wonderful pie pan. Very sturdy, will last forever. My pie browned nicer than I have ever seen. Normally I use the glass ones. This one was exceptional. I like the fact that its chemical free and sturdy, a big plus and another big plus being made in the USA. I try to buy that whenever possible. Don't be afraid to try this pan, you will be amazed and the price is certainly right for all you get..

I was very happy to discover, after reading a discouraging review, that Amazon does send out the authentic, made in U.S.A. product. I ordered a number of Granite Ware pans and pots for my Sun and toaster ovens; they all arrived in great shape.Then I dropped one on a carpeted floor -- it fell about 30 inches -- and the brown enamel chipped off a corner. I believe that might not have happened had the pan fell on its side -- a corner is a vulnerable spot. Sadly, very few companies seem to make their products to have the best quality anymore -- except for Amish-type companies. I've found some wonderful and unique things in the Lehman's Non-Electric Catalog. I still recommend Granite Ware, even though the metal in their pans and the enamel on them should be thicker. Just treat them like glass pans and don't drop them. (P.S. Lehman's doesn't have better enameled pans; they sell the same brand.)
