I use this for slicing cheesecakes and regular cakes without any problems. I like the size handles it has for gripping. Easy to use and easier to clean. Like it's name, it is a perfect slicer!

If you have a cake on a perfectly flat surface, it works(4 stars). If your cake plate has a lip or curves up as so many do, the Perfect Slices hits the raised portion and can't cut all the way through. So, totally forget pie - it can only make a mark on the top to use as a guide for your KNIFE because the PIE DISH is in the WAY! You can barely cut the edge of the crust with this thing let alone all the way through. Calling this a pie cutter is false advertising. Even if you get the pie out of the dish whole (with a metal disposable tin, it makes a mess of it. And, it's humongous. Where to store it??? A total waste of money UNLESS you only plan to use it on cakes that are on a COMPLETELY FLAT serving surface.
