This thing was a waste of money. I bought another one (Harold Import Company Mrs. Anderson's 10-Inch Pie Shield) from Amazon and it works great.The pie crust gets just as overbrowned with these on than with nothing at all. You'd be better off with tin foil.

I love these so much that I came back to buy a set for my mom. I always put them on the raw pie crust before baking, and I've never had a burnt crust. I use these every time I bake a pie, with various different crust recipes. To clean, I soak them after baking (if they get gooey), and then they just clean right off with a sponge. They're not discolored, after at least a dozen pies. I love that I only have to have one set of these, and they fit my 8, 9 and 12-inch pie dishes. I wish they offered prettier colors. Mine are a pukey green color, and the ones I bought for my mom are navy blue. Since when are those popular kitchen colors?
