I saw this personal pie maker first, and never knew there were other brands. I should have done my homework.The good thing about this pie maker is that when the pies do come out the are cute little pies.The bad things are they are cute "Little" pies. Not much filling can go into them as they are probably the smallest out there.This is the only personal pie maker that I have seen that does not come with cutter rings to cut the pastry the exact size for the machine. All other brands I have seen since come with a large ring to cut the bottom pastry and smaller one for the pastry lids. The instructions just say "Cut pie dough into circles, using a glass, cookie cutter or a knife". There are no measurements, suggestions to size, nothing to give an idea how to do this, or what sizes they should be. You wind up experimenting with every glass, jar lid you have in your kitchen to get something to work.The machine does not have a latch. So when you get everything assembled and close the top of the machine, the pie in the front will lift the lid as it begins to bake and the rest of the pies do not cook evenly. Invariably they all come out in different stages of "done".I wish I had seen other machines before I purchased this one. With the lack of measuring tools, small size of the pies, and barely existant instructions this would not be anyones first choice.Best tip I can give. Use store bought pie dough for the bottoms and puff pastry for the lids.Great idea, just not from this company.

I bought this a few months ago and didn't get around to using it until this weekend. It's a great little pie maker. I wrote a little "how to" post on my blog and got a lot of positive feedback from friends because it looked so easy to use. I even had my Mom asking me how much the pie maker is. It's a great product that does exactly what it says it'll do. I'm saddened by the low star reviews. Perfect for the whole family. This thing makes perfect little pies that we serve to our kids for dinner (chicken pot pies are a hit and a great way to get veggies hidden in there) we also used it to make personal cherry pies for a party we were having. We just bought store bought dough and ready cherry filling and people raved about them and thought it hours to make when it really took about 15 minutes. A really neat item and not to expensive.
